‘Grumpy Cat’ becomes artistic muse for online auction

She’s been an Internet celebrity, morning show guest, South by Southwest star and magazine cover girl. And now, Tardar Sauce aka “Grumpy Cat,” the sourpuss that’s spawned a million memes, can add a new role to the list: Artist’s muse.

“We think she looks so grumpy you can’t help but feel happy when you look at her,” said Tardar Sauce’s owner Bryan Bundesen. “She’s like a stress reliever for everyone.” Once Tardar Sauce’s sour puss face hit the internet she received instant fame, and her scowl is now available on t-shirts and Christmas cards.

LONDON - Downing Street, where the head of Britain’s government resides right next door to the man who holds the nations’ purse strings, has witnessed its fair share of spats over the years.
But the fur flew for real Tuesday when two cats from each official residence — known colloquially as Number 10 and Number 11 — traded paws in a brief bout of feline fury.
Larry, Prime Minister David Cameron’s cat, was pictured taking a claw to the throat from Freya, Chancellor George Osborne’s pet.

Forget PowerPoint: It turns out the secret to improving productivity at your job might be puppies.
A new study out of Hiroshima University found that people performed a variety of tasks faster or more accurately after looking at pictures of kittens and puppies. These test subjects also beat out others who looked at pictures of adult animals or gourmet meals instead.

The Associated Press reports — The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis tested the boundaries of legitimate art Thursday with a film festival devoted to the online cat videos that pervade YouTube and social networks.

They’ve got that glow: U.S. scientists have developed a strain of green-glowing cats with cells that resist infection from a virus that causes feline AIDS, a finding that may help prevent the disease in cats and advance AIDS research in people.
