Approaching 12 hour mark, Paul-led filibuster continues

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul pledged to filibuster the nomination of John Brennan to be the next CIA director “until I can no longer speak.”
With the twelve-hour mark in sight, after assists from more than a half dozen colleagues along the way, he showed little sign of stopping.

WASHINGTON — Counterterrorism adviser John Brennan will be nominated as director of the Central Intelligence Agency by President Barack Obama, White House officials told NBC News on Monday.
