David Beckham’s glittering career as the world’s most recognizable soccer player is over.
Landon Donovan scored the tiebreaking goal on a penalty kick in the 65th minute, and David Beckham left MLS as a two-time champion with the Los Angeles Galaxy’s 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo in the MLS Cup on Saturday.
Nobody can be too shocked about tonight’s ginormous news out of Los Angeles that David Beckham has one game remaining in his illustrious domestic professional soccer career.
The Galaxy announced on its website late Monday evening that Beckham, 37, will play his last match for the club on Dec. 1. That night, at the team’s Home Depot Center, the former England captain and his Galaxy teammates will try to defend their MLS Cup title.
